Power Edge Hawaii's Rate of Fire Competition (a.k.a. the "Card Board Cutting Contest") was a success. The event took place on a sunny Saturday afternoon on August 26th at Power Edge Hawaii's CQB Arena. All of the local airsoft retailer's in Oahu gathered for a friendly competition to see who can efficiently split a piece of card board in half. Participants included six members from E-Powersports LLC., five members from Zero Ops, one member representing Impact Games, two members from team SAPC, D.W.C.'s Wes "Doc" Wong, and three independent participants. The AEG's were diverse and had "Feet Per Second" ranging from as low as 409 fps (1.55 joules) to as high as 511 fps (2.41 joules) based on .20gram KSC BB's. The guidelines were as follows:

  • Minimum 400 fps
  • 509mm inner barrel maximum
  • 12 volt battery maximum
  • No ELECTRIC box magazine
  • Max weight of .25g bb's only
  • NO GAS POWERED GUNS
  • No Monopod, Bipods, or Tripods (Slings OK)
  • No rotary barreled guns
  • Single barreled guns only
  • No telescopic / magnified sights (lasers and red dot sights OK)

The participants competed for a top cash prize of $250 and a SYSTEMA High Speed Gear Set. Second Prize was for $50 and a Laylax Prometheus Hard Piston, and Third Place was for a $25 Power Edge Gift Certificate.
